Imagine making a lay up, a free throw and a 3 point shot in that order within a 25 second time limit to take home a big flat-screen television. That's exactly what Belle Fourche Middle School sixth grader Hadley Joens managed to do - and in front of hundreds of local and visiting basketball fans last week at a Belle Fourche High School varsity game. It's part of the Purple Pride program to raise funding for high school scholarships and to add extra funding for special school educational programs. He won the chance to shoot for the television and walked out onto the floor with his game face on and assistants to help get a basketball back into his hands as fast as possible after each shot. Hadley is the youngest to take home one of the Purple Pride televisions. He's with the evening's television sponsors from First Interstate Bank in Belle Fourche Mike Tyndall at left and T.J. Gusso at right.

There's no question about the smile on KeAnna Ward's face standing with her new flat screen 32-inch television. Her Purple Pride raffle ticket last week won her the chance to make a basketball layup, free throw and three-pointer in 25 seconds. She made all three shots. She's also on the Lady Bronc Junior Varsity basketball team this year. From left are Rachel Zacher, Maclyn Hauck, Karli Jewett, KeAnna, Shyan Croft and Tori Dungey. Belle Butte Title sponsored the night's television offer for the school-parent-business Purple Pride partnership that provides funds for education activities and post-high school scholarships.

The JD Young family picked up their new Purple Pride Ram 1500 pickup during last week's home basketball double header. JD had purchased a Purple Pride raffle for a chance to toss a nerf football into the cab - and made the shot. From left in the front row with the pickup are Breck, Sloan, Rylee and mom Laura and Dad JD. They're getting the keys from Scott and Susan Peterson of Scott Peterson Motors. In the back row are Belle Fourche High School Principal Mathew Raba, activities director Clay Anderson, Scott Peterson Motors general manager Jim O'Byrne and at far right BFHS counselor and Purple Pride committee member Jeff Caldwell. The pickup is a two-year lease through the dealership that was key in forming the local school, parent and business Purple Pride partnership to help fund school special programs and scholarships to graduating seniors. The scholarships themselves have a community service requirement that underlines the personal rewards of volunteering.

Belle Fourche branch president and board member for the First Interstate Greater Belle Fourche Foundation TJ Gusso handed out checks of nearly $11,000 to Belle Fourche and Butte County area service nonprofits Friday. Somebody won the pickup. In fact, it was J.D. Young who tossed a foam football 35 yards to win the 2013 Dodge 1500 quad cab 4-by-4 from the Belle Fourche Purple Pride project. At left are Scott and Susan Peterson who, with their Scott Peterson Motors are major sponsors, J.D. and Laura Young and the Young kids Sloan and Rylee.
